Our Probate Team

Our team has over 70 years of collective experience in delivering high quality work and advice in a wide spectrum of private client work.

We have three members in the department who may work on your matter. Regardless of who works on your matter, they will be supervised by Rory Thorp, Partner within the private client department.

Rory Justin Robert Thorp - Partner

Rory is a partner and has over 18 years' experience in private client work, specialising in wills and probate. Rory has been working in this area since he qualified and has helped hundreds of families and individuals.

Rory qualified as a solicitor in 2000 after gaining a 2.1 LLB Hons degree from Middlesex University. In 2006 he completed the Legal Practice Course with Commendation and trained at Parkes Wilshire Johnson before moving on to join our firm in 2014. He became a partner in 2016 and is a member of the Law Society Private Client Section

Nicholas James Osborn – Consultant (non-practising)

Nick joined Derrick Bridges & Co in 1982 and qualified as a solicitor in 1984. He was a partner from 1988 until 2012 when he retired from full time work. Since 2012 Nick has worked on a part time consultancy basis for the firm.

Throughout his time with the firm, Nick has undertaken a variety of areas of work but his specialism is in probate work in which he has over 30 years’ experience and being the only area of work that he now undertakes. Over the years Nick has dealt with a substantial number of estates of varying degrees of complexity.

Pragna Chhagan - Associate Solicitor

Pragna studied Law with French Law at the University of Reading, which included 1 year studying in Paris. She  qualified as a solicitor in 2013. Since qualifying, Pragna has specialised in all aspects of Private Client matters, and says she finds this area of work interesting and rewarding.  She prides herself on her friendly and approachable attitude with clients, and feels that this is particularly important when dealing with the elderly.  A significant part of her experience has involved dealing with elderly client matters such as Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters.  She is a Dementia Friend, and is keen to raise awareness of mental capacity issues and ways to help vulnerable clients.

Outside of work, Pragna enjoys travelling, reading, going to the gym (although sometimes this can be a chore!) and socialising.

Debbie Singer - Associate Solicitor

Debbie qualified as a solicitor in 2007, with a commendation from the University of Law, London.

She has over 10 years' experience in working exclusively in private client. Her skills include drafting and advising on Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and assisting personal representatives in the administration of estates.

Debbie enjoys working with a variety of client to provide practical advice.

Outside of work Debbie enjoys painting, taking photographs and exploring London with friends and family.
